Walk History
The Cursillo pilgrimage to Knock, better Known as (The Walk to Knock) began in 1988. It was an organised event to celebrate the Marian year and Cursillo 10th anniversary in the North West of Ireland. It was envisaged to be a one off event, but has since developed into a large community event over the last 19 years involving pilgrims from all over the North. From the diocese of Derry, Raphoe, Down and Connor and Dublin. Four years ago the Dublin walk began in response to a number of Dublin pilgrims who had participated in the pilgrimages from Derry and Belfast over 10 years
